Whether one is practicing yoga, playing tennis or weight lifting, there are principles that govern all physical disciplines. Learning to work with the core of the body is essential for physical as well as psychological wellbeing. In this workshop, we will examine what is the core of the body, how this western concept dovetails with the yogic concepts of Mulha Bandha and Uddiyana Bandha, and how to integrate the core into asana work.

Anatomy. The stuff under the skin. So important that
Michael Angelo risked imprisonment in order to study cadavers. It informed
him in his art. If it worked for Mike, there’s gotta be something
to it.
This workshop will forgo the cadavers but will bring
into play the important bones, muscles, tendons and ligaments that
support or detract from our ability to perform postures with ease.
This session will focus on postures with direct impact
on the neck and shoulders: headstand (Sirsasana), shoulderstand (Sarvangasana)
and reverse table pose (Purvottanasana). Posture work will be adapted
to the level of the participant.

Prerequisite: 3 years of practice or instructor consent.
5 mornings of yoga focusing on Vinyasa (movement) technique. Learn to move

intelligence and consideration we give the asana.
Transitions will be examined through visual demonstrations, partner work and
discussions so they may be practiced for efficiency, composure and artistry.

Follow Theresa in her daily asana practice as she creates sequences from her
20 years of practice in asana and the movement arts. This is an opportunity
to practice alongside Theresa, who as a master practitioner can intuitively
and spontaneously create sequences that flow easily from one pose to the next.
This series is a general level class in the "follow the leader" format
